Re-visiting Corby – Is this a Waste Land?

Re-visiting Corby – Is this a Waste Land?

Corby.2web

A little over a year ago we presented an unusual performance on the vacant lot of land that still sits next to the cinema in central Corby, where the community college used to be. People who attended the performance were seen wearing headphones, moving in sync with each other while carrying long bamboo poles, making curious structures out of plastic and metal and wooden waste materials and then knocking them down. It was moving and thought provoking, and fun.

This September the team behind Is this a Waste Land? are returning to Corby to revisit the site, reconnect with the people of Corby, remember and share our experiences and create new ones in an informal event to which you are invited.

Saturday 29th September 2018
2 – 4pm
FREE

The event will include an extract from the original performance, an opportunity for sharing and remembering your experience, a short performance from one of the artistic collaborators and more.

There will be tea and biscuits of course!

We have limited capacity so please book your spaces in advance by emailing:

Keren Kossow: keren@charlottespencerprojects.org

No need to have attended the original performance, this is an experience for everyone.

This event will involve walking from our designated meeting point and may end in a different location. Please wear suitable footwear and bring a jacket as we will be outdoors for the duration. Meet us from 1.45pm at the entrance to the Savoy Cinema, Parkland Gateway, George Street, Corby NN17 1QG.
